Had an epic 4 day weekend in Mammoth last week. Pics and vidz in the Gallery (also from January trip). Several feet of powder and lots of killer runs on the Dragons Back and Tail. Tons more snow falling this week, time to head up again.

I finally got a new phone several weeks ago. I was waiting for something better than what I had, but there just wasn’t any. Then Sprint came out with the Samsung A900. Killer screen, super slim, EV-DO high speed Internet, and Bluetooth. (and a bunch of other nonsense that I don’t care about: camera, video player, etc.)

It’s a sweet phone, but what makes it even sweeter are some of the applications I have since discovered. There are two that are essential, and if you have a modern phone I highly recommend investigating whether you can run them.
The first is Google Local. If you have used the regular version, you know how cool it is. If you haven’t, you should. Now imagine having most of the same functionality on your phone. Check it out at Google Local for Mobile.
The next is even cooler. I am a serious Opera web browser fan, have been for years. It is simply the best, most powerful web browser there is. Now you can have the same power of Opera on your phone, giving you the ability to view real websites, using Operas ’small screen rendering’ technology. You are no longer limited to WAP sites. Check it out at Opera Mini
